Phil Thompson has over 30 years of experience as an eye care professional. Phil has worked on various projects for Positive Impact over the years and now leads the Professional Services across our entire portfolio.

In the past he has managed the general running of a small independent 6 practice optical group, along with coaching the branch teams for greater performance in all aspects of their optical business. He worked with a leading UK optical chain as a regional manager and in 2010 completed a Nottingham University Business School Regional Managers Development Programme.

He has successfully implemented specialist contact lens services, such as OrthoK and complex RGP fitting into Bateman’s Opticians (now part of the VE group). In 2007 he became a licensed trainer for Krauthammer; a globally renowned coaching, consulting and training company. 

Phil is a keen poulterer, keeping the PI team fully stocked with eggs. He can usually be found in his garden sipping a pale ale, with a pizza in his outdoor wood-fired oven.
